IoT-integrated mulch

Removable sensing harness with separate sheet-temperature, trace-continuity and soil-moisture channels. The model varies surface coverage; it does not predict electrical resistance from moisture.

Hydrogel reservoir

Water absorbed from the top layer is tracked in a separate store and released during modeled drying. Capacity and kinetic rates are assumptions, not product dose recommendations.

Uptake rate
0.12 per hour, illustrative
Release rate
0.06 per hour, moisture-limited
Qualification

Scope and validation

Three-layer bucket balance, bounded root uptake and separate evaporation/transpiration. ET0 uses a simplified daily FAO-56 calculation with scenario weather. This is not Richards-equation hydrology, a validated growth predictor, or a fertilizer prescription engine.
